Happy Independence Day!
The 4th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays.
It is a day we celebrate the freedom and liberty we have, not just from living here in the United States of America, but the freedom, justice, and liberty we have through Christ!
Most people, I think, I hope, know the first verse to our beloved National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner. But I find that not many folks know the rest of the verses. While I don't really know the second and third, I do know the fourth, which is my personal favorite:
"O thus be it ever when free men shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave."
