I'm back! + Exciting News!

*waves wildly*
Salutations! I have returned from my impromtu (and unintentional) blog break!
It has been a crazy summer thus far in my neck of the woods, but I finally have the time to sit down and write an update!

This summer so far:

1. (Early July) I got a haircut! It was my first "real" haircut in about ten years. It's really weird having shoulder length hair again, but I love it!

1. (Mid-July) Had a friend from West Virginia fly out and stay for two weeks. That was a blast! My sisters and I became full-out tour guides; Astoria Oregon, Fort Stevens, Multnomah Falls, Mt. St. Helens, Fort Vancouver...It was a fun two weeks.

2. (Early August) Entered two paintings at my local County Fair, and got 1st prize for them both! *excited squeal*

3. (Mid August) Had a birthday! Now I'm officially old...er than I was last year. xD

4. (Today) I finished the first draft of my second book in the Time Traveler series!! (excuse me while I excitedly dance around and giggle.)
*ahem*
I'm super excited to have finished it! If all goes as planned, it will be published early September, 2020!
Yeah, I know that's a whole year away, but I want it to be published in early September, and this year is too close to be able to do it.
The date has to do with the book's plot. B)

Anywho, now I just need to get it edited, proofed, re-edited, re-proofed, and checked once or twice more...then it'll be ready!
Is anybody interested in being a beta-reader?
Just one thing, you'll want to read the first book first, as you might get lost otherwise... xD
Let me know!

This is a short-ish post, but I'll make up for it next week, as the lovely miss Rakayle has tagged me in a 3 Days 3 Quotes Tag! (Thanks, Rakayle!)

So until Monday, dear readers!

God bless!

Trouble Abrewin'

Greetings!
I suppose I will start off with a lame excuse for not posting in nearly a month...
I've been quite busy, and have honestly had zero inspiration for a blog post.
But now I have some inspiration, so here I am!

Lately:

I have been busy with the annual Camp NaNo!
So far, I have written 8,598 words out of my 15,000 word goal for the month of April.
It's fantastic to be out of a few-months-long writing slump.
The book I'm currently slaving away working on is the second installment in my Time Traveler series. It's already twice the length of my first book.
I hope to have it finished before long, roll it through the editing phase, and have it published by Fall, 2020. But...who knows. ;)

A Book Birthday:

And now...to announce the anniversary of the publication of my first book, Trouble in Scotland! The date of publication is drawing near, (April 14th) and I wanted to have a celebration of sorts!

What better way to do that, then host my very-first giveaway?

a Rafflecopter giveaway

So! The giveaway starts on the 10th, and ends the 14th.
Once the winner has been chosen by the random winner selector, I will contact aforementioned winner and get their address so I can send them a freshly printed, signed paperback of my book.

Be sure to tell as many of your friends as you can, because to make it more fair, I'd like to have at least 5 entrants for this giveaway.

Thanks for reading, and good luck!

God bless,

Megan

Another Announcement!

Greetings!
Spring is nearing, yet the snow continues to fall...
But putting aside the dreary thoughts of prolonged cold winter weather, I have some exciting news!
Remember the Cover Giveaway I mentioned last week?
Well I was shocked and delighted to find out that I had won!

The clever and talented miss Bethany C Willcock designed me a gorgeous cover for my just-published book, The Strange Case of Willoughby Spalding!
Instead of using my not-so-great-quality, hand painted cover, I'm pleased to announce that I'll be updating my cover to be this beautiful one!

Isn't it gorgeous?

Along with the cover, Bethany is working on making me three delightful promotional graphics for the book!

I hope to have my book published as a paperback by next month as well, if all goes well in the printing department. ;)

I plan to return next week with a lovely St. Patrick's Day themed post!

Until then,

God bless!

Ebook Release + My Favourite Fictional Couples

Greetings, reader!
Happy day of giving flowers, chocolate, and other such gifts! (aka, Valentine's Day...)
Since this is the yearly day of all things romantic, I figured, why not do a post of my favorite fictional couples?
But first, I am pleased to announce that my short book, The Strange Case of Willoughby Spalding, is now released to the public as an ebook/Kindle!
You can find it on Amazon.
If you end up getting it, I would be chuffed, (very pleased), if you would leave a review on Amazon, or Goodreads!

And now, without further ado, here is a short list of my favorite couples in the fictional world:

#1. Nick & Nora Charles

Nicky and Nora are by far my top favorite fictional couple of all time. From the movie series, The Thin Man.
They solve crimes and mysteries together all while teasing each other, calling each other endearing names, (He's always calling her "darling", "sugar", etc.), and she is always joking about his job as detective, and he, her abundance of money. (which Nicky is always joking was the only reason he married her.)
They are just the coolest couple, and I love them to pieces.
William Powell and Myrna Loy, the actor and actress who portray this wonderful couple, are the absolute perfect casting for these two.
I read that they teased and joked with each other just as much off set, as they did in the films.
And look at them! Aren't they just a gorgeous couple?
*sigh*
I wish people nowadays were as dapper and fashionable as the folks in the 1930's, 40's, and 50's...

#2. George & Mary Bailey

"George Bailey, I'll love you 'til the day I die."
George is going through a whole lot in his life, and his darling wife Mary loves and supports him, no matter what. They are a sweet couple, played by a really great acting duo. <3
From It's a Wonderful Life.

#3. Tony Kirby & Alice Sycamore

From the wonderful old movie, You Can't Take it With You.
Tony, a rich banker's son, is in love with Alice, his pretty secretary. And she is in love with him. Her family loves him, but his, despise her. His parents are rich, hers are poor.
These two are adorable. I'd say more, but I don't want to ruin the movie for you if you haven't seen it.

#4. Jack Hudson & Sue Thomas

From the TV show, Sue Thomas FBI  Eye.
Now, Sue Thomas is, of course a real (super cool) person. But this is a more fictionalized version of her life as a Deaf FBI agent.
But Sue and Jack are just darling. They obviously like each other a whole lot as you watch them throughout the show.
*highlight for spoiler* By the end of the series, they never did confess their love for each other, and remain just friends. *cries* *spoiler ended*
I think they're just perfect for each other.
When Sue first joins the FBI, and Jack realizes that she is Deaf, he goes out and learns basic Sign Language so he can talk to her.
When the team talks about the strategies, Jack always makes sure to turn and face her so she can read his lips and understand what is going on. <3

Alright then, I shall stop boring you with my ravings about adorable TV couples... xD
Hope you have a great Thursday!

~ Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? ~
~ Who is your favorite fictional couple? ~
~ Are you familiar with any of these I've mentioned? ~

God bless!
