The Sunshine Award Tag

 Shallow Focus of Spider Web

*dusts away cobwebs*

*coughs*

Who let this place get so dusty anyway?

I'm baaack! Again.
You thought I forgot about this blog, didn't you?

Well...Maybe I did.

Oh. You forgot about it too?

Humph. I guess I deserve that.

Anywho!
I've been tagged by miss Rakayle, so here are the questions, and my answers:

1. Would you rather be a Jedi or a Hobbit?

A Hobbit, 100%.
Besides the fact that Hobbits are super cool, I have no idea what a Jedi even is...So... xD

  2. What movie did you last watch?

Sorrowful Jones - Wikipedia

3. One Youtube channel you recommend?

YoungMin You.
He arranges and also composes piano pieces, and they are absolutely fantastically beautiful! Plus, he also sells sheet music so you can learn to play his pieces as well! :D

4. Favorite book genre?

My favorites books are written in the 18th and 19th, and early 20th centuries, and I guess they could be classified as "drama"?
I'm not really sure what genre they are considered.
But anything written by Mrs. O. F. Walton, A. L. O. E., Amy LeFeuvre, or E. D. E. N. Southworth I have thoroughly enjoyed!

5. What language do you want to learn?

Only one? xD
Welsh, for one. But I also would love to learn ASL, and French.

6. What is one thing you would like to be (aka, like a spy or so) if you were not being realistic?

Not realistic? Hmm...
A comedian.

I love to make people laugh, but I don't think I'm actually funny enough. Or brave enough to try and talk in front of a lot of people. xD

7. What is an obsession of yours (besides reading/writing)?

I wouldn't consider it an obsession, but I'd say I am rather fond of playing instruments!

8. What author would you love to meet in real life?

Miss C. R. Hedgcock. She seems like she would be a really fun person to meet!

9. What is your favorite card game?

The Great Dalmuti! It's so much fun. My family and I can play it for hours.

10. Have you ever played Minecraft?

Nope. I've heard the name, but I have no idea what it even is.

11. What historical setting would you like to visit?

The 1890's.
I love the fashion from that time period!

And besides that, about 75% of my favorite hymns were written in that decade!

Re-tag:
Ok, so here's the thing... Nearly none of the bloggers I follow really post anymore, and if they do, they've probably already done this tag...so... If you want to answer these questions, I'd love to see your answers! Feel free to comment them! :)

Thanks, Rakayle, for tagging me, and getting me to post again on this poor forgotten blog.
I hope to return again with something interesting to post!

"Right. We'll believe that when we see it."

...Touchè.

Until next time,

God bless!

NaNoWriMo 20 Questions Tag!

Rules

  1. Thank the awesome blogger who tagged you!
  2. Link back to the creator of this tag, Sophie @Sophie’s Corner
  3. Feel free to use the NaNoWriMo 20 Questions Tag graphics!
  4. Answer the questions.
  5. Tag some friends who are also doing NaNo this year.
  6. And have fun!!!

Thanks for tagging me, Esther!
.

Tell me about your NaNoWriMo project this year! Give me a blurb!

It is the year 1897.
An unsolved mystery dating from the early years of American independence is thought to be long forgotten.
Forgotten that is, until a determined young Oxford college student and his roommates stumble upon something that could change their lives forever.

What’s the genre?

Historical Fiction, and Mystery.

Describe your MC in three words.

Determined, loyal, clever.

Without spoilers, describe your villain in three words.

Smiling, brilliant, dastardly.

What is your goal? (the traditional 50K? 20K? 5K? or……. 100K?)

I'm hoping for the traditional 50,000, but who knows. Any word count is better than what I have at the moment. (Which is nothing. xD)

Is this your first draft? Second? Third?

First draft! I have high hopes for this one.

Are you starting a new project (or draft), or continuing an existing one?

This is an entirely new idea I've just come up with. I'm excited to start it!

What is your favorite time to write in the day?

Early morning before the day officially starts.

Where are you going to write?

Probably in my bedroom, on my laptop.

Computer or paper?

Laptop, as it's much easier to write quickly. Though paper is my favorite for jotting down ideas and quotes.

NaNoWriMo is a huge commitment!! How are you going to make time to write?

Get up earlier, skip watching tv or reading to write, and by taking a writing utensil with me everywhere; because you never know when inspiration is going to hit!

Are you going to participate in local or online NaNoWriMo events? (e.g. kick-off parties in your city, write-ins, virtual writing sprints…)

Depends. I'm not going to any real-life write-ins, though I might engage in virtual writing sprints via Mywriteclub.com. (my user name is PennyWhistlerMegs, if you'd like to join and have writing sprint wars with me!)

Do you write from beginning to end or skip around?

Beginning to end! I can't piece the puzzle together if I write different scenes that aren't in chronological order.

Planner or pantser? (or plantser?)

I'm a planster. I get the idea, and plan out the main ideas in my head, but otherwise, I never outline. I usually have the idea, and just fill in the blanks as I go.
I occasionally write out ideas I want to add though.

What will be your go-to NaNoWriMo snack?

Dried apples, dates, and barley cookies. (Hint hint to my favorite cookie baker!) ;)

Choice of caffeine? (or no caffeine?)

Coffee, and hot cocoa. But mostly coffee.

Any rewards for milestone achievements? For finishing NaNoWriMo?

Um, nope. Not that I know of anyway.

Share a tip for other NaNo-ers!

Just keep writing! Word wars/spints are fantastic for upping that word count. It's fun to challenge yourself along with others for good-natured competition.

How are you feeling about NaNoWriMo? (Excited? Nervous? Terrified?)

Definitely excited!!

Share an aesthetic for your NaNoWriMo novel!

Alright! That was a fun tag!
Now...I'm not sure how popular this tag is, so I'm not sure who has and who hasn't been tagged already...
So if you're participating in NaNoWriMo, and haven't been tagged, please snag this tag, and let me know! I'd love to read your answers!

Happy day before the day before NaNoWriMo!

God bless!

Megan

Tagged Again!

Ahem
*taps mic*
Is this thing on?
*mic statics and screeches then everything falls quiet*
*There's a cough from somewhere in the audience*
Oh, hello everyone. Tis I once again.
Long time no see, eh?

Well after almost a month of silence, I have returned!
*crickets*
*random person in the audience yells "woo!"*
Ah ha, thank you...random person.
Anywho! I have been tagged, not once, but twice!
So I have decided to combine the tags, and see what I can do about answering the questions.

On to Tag #1!

Awesome Blogger Tag

Rules:

Thank the person/blogger who nominated you.

Thanks, Rakayle!

Tag your post with #awesome blogger award

Tagged! (Or..."labeled"...I'm not sure what tagging is, exactly...)

Answer all the questions given to you

I shall get to that, forthwith!

Nominate at least 5 bloggers and inform them of their nomination, and give them 10 new questions to answerRight, I will endeavor to find some folks to tag!
Now, onto the questions...

#1. What are the reasons you wouldn't finish reading a book?

My reasons for not finishing a book are as follows:

      a. I got too busy and have yet to return to it

      b. I lost interest. It can honestly be the most exciting part of the book, but if my attention is diverted from it, I can leave off reading for days, weeks, or even months.

      c. The book was due back at the library and I was too lazy to re-order it.

#2. Would you live in a land made of candy?

Ew...no thanks. Just think about the ant problem you would have! Not to mention the cavities...Plus, I don't even like candy all that much, so...
Now if you had proposed a chocolate world...my answer might be a bit different. ;)
#3. Has the reason you started blogging changed? Why do you do it now?
Hmm...not really. I started this blog to promote my writing, and to get to know my readers. I've enjoyed it thus far!

#4. Detectives or spies?
Definitely detectives. Private Detectives especially!
Spies are cool too though...
Ooo, how about a detective spy? Yes, yes that would do nicely, thank you.

#5. One book you like in a genre you don't like?
Hmm...I don't think I've really read a book in a genre I didn't like.
Romance is probably the only genre I've read that I really don't care for.
"Within These Lines" by Stephanie Morrill was pretty good, considering it's a romance. I liked the story line.

#6. What do you love about blogging?
It's fun, and I get to "meet" lots of cool people!

7. One YouTube channel you recommend?
Just one...Well, I might have gone with Blimey Cow, but I suppose that one is a popular recommendation... So perhaps I'll go with...
Taryn Harbridge's YouTube Channel.
She's a super talented musician who arranges and plays Hymns, Popular Movie Soundtracks, and others on multiple instruments. A lot of her songs have a Celtic feel to them.
Her main instrument is the Violin, but she plays the Tin Whistle, Piano, Guitar, Accordion, Drums, the Tambourine...and puts all the videos of herself playing the instruments together to make fantastic music videos.
They're super cool to watch, and amazing to listen to!

#8. When writing do you listen to lyric music or instrumental?

Definitely instrumental. Classical, or Ambient music is my favorite to listen to. Sometimes Movie Soundtracks; but they get distracting sometimes, especially if I'm familiar with the movie.
#9. Book of the Bible that you like to read the most?
Proverbs. It's so wonderful, and full of such wisdom! Though that could be said for all of the books of the Bible...
If it wasn't Proverbs, I'd go Romans. Or James. 1 John is amazing too though...Then there's always Job...
Ah, I'm gonna say my favorite book is...the Bible. ;)

#10. Do you like vintage?
Love it!
Now "vintage" generally ranges between the 1940's and 1960's, it seems.
Those are great eras for clothes, hats, music especially, and the like. Some of my favorites!
Some days, I enjoy "taking vintage to a whole new level", and by that, I mean the 1840's. Or even the 1810's. I have handmade my own 1840's, and 1810's dresses.
Dressing in different eras of time is such fun. I enjoy it immensely.

Well that was positively smashing! Thanks again for tagging me, Rakayle!
Here are the lovelies I have decided to tag:

Your questions:
1. What is your favorite recreational sport?
2. Which book of the Bible has the most inspiration for you?
3. What is your favorite instrument? (To play, or listen to.)
4. What's the best book you've read this year?
5. Favorite TV show? (Or movie, if you don't watch tv shows!)
6. Singing, or plotting World Domination (or...just a book plot) in the Shower?
7. Coffee, or Hot Cocoa?
8. War Spy, or Private Consulting Detective?
9. Historical Dress Up Masquerade Party! You're choices range from 1800 to 1900. Which decade of outfit would you choose, and why?
10. What makes a book rate 5 stars, for you?

Right, that was such fun! Now on to the next tag...

The 10 Book Questions Tag

The Rules:
-Thank the person who nominated you.
Thanks for tagging me, Kaitlyn!

-Answer the questions you were asked.
On to that momentarily...

-Nominate at least 5 bloggers.
Five more??

-Give them 10 questions to answer!
Ohh...I'll try!
The Questions:
1. What are three of your favorite book covers?
Is one allowed to have one's own book under a favorite?
Because...
I wuvs this cover:

I love this cover, it's so mysterious, and plain brilliant!
I'm just dying to get my hands on a copy of this beauty!

And another book I've yet to read, but absolutely love the cover!
The watercolory theme, the lighting! It's breathtaking.

2. What is one of your favorite book series?
Hands down, the Baker Family Adventures!
The books only get better with each new addition.

3. Do you prefer new books or the classics?
In general, classics are my favorite. You can't beat a good old Dickens, A.L.O.E., or Shakespeare!

4. What is your least favorite book cover?

So the book itself was cool, as it is a play.

But the cover is a bit...boring.

5. On your physical bookshelf, what is the 17th book in line (if you have that many)?Counting from left to right, the 17th book in line on my shelf is this:

A really fascinating read. Definitely recommend this!

6. What is your favorite genre to read? If historical, which era?

I like just about everything published by Lamplighter Publishing. They're books written in the 1800's and 1900's. They're all really great!

7. Do you prefer paperbacks or ebooks?

Paperbacks, hands down! Though I like leather-bound hardbacks the best.

8. Do you prefer matte or glossy covers?
I think I prefer glossy. Matte is okay, but I don't like the texture of it. If that makes any sense...
Though my favorite is the faux leather, almost soft-and-squishy-hard covers.

9. What is a book on your shelf that you'll probably never read?

Mm, I'm gonna have to say...this book:

I have gleaned a bit from it, but it certainly isn't a book I'm going to read through.

10. In your opinion, what object or color just really improves a cover?

Silhouettes. I love silhouettes; they make a cover so much more intriguing!

Okay, so I actually don't really know who else to tag...
So don't shoot me...but I'm just going to do the blogger-tag-cop-out, and say:
"If you think it would be fun, consider yourself tagged!"
I like the questions I answered, so if you grab this tag, answer the previous questions. :)

Whew, this was a fun post!
It's been a while since I posted, I hope ya'll enjoyed reading my answers!

~What's your favorite cover of the three I mentioned as my favorites?~
~Do you prefer chocolate, or candy?~

Thanks for reading,

God bless!

Voted Most Likely Tag

Salutations, readers!
Once again I have been MIA far too long, and for that I apologize, but alas...life happens, eh?
But with that poor excuse now put aside, we shall move along to the purpose of this post!

Miss Rakayle Hier kindly tagged me to join in on this fantastic tag! I think it will help you, as well as myself, to get to know some of my characters better!

The Rules:

1: Thank the lovely blogger who tagged you. You know you want to.
Thank youuu, Rakayle, I'm excited to do this!

2: Include this lovely link in your post.
Done! ;)

3: Use your own lovely Original Characters (OC’s); don’t use a friend’s characters or characters from your favorite fandom. They can be from any project, so long as you created them. For more fun, try to use as many different characters as possible.
Brilliant! For I have many characters...

4: Tag at least five lovely blogger friends to play along.
Hmm. This may prove hard...

The Characters:

The Time Travers - Trouble in Scotland: Science Fiction/Adventure - Joshua, Amy, Aaron, & Ivy

The Strange Case of Willoughby Spalding: Mystery/Romance - Willoughby & Elizabeth

The Murder of Mr. E.J. Hampton: Murder Mystery/Victorian Era - Captain James Windsor & Mr. Henry Cobbs

In Times of Trial: Drama/Romance  - Malcolm, Hubert, Rory, & Bridget

Bonus! The Time Travelers Book 2: Science Fiction/Historical Fiction - Taivert Merel (Tie-VAIR Mer-EL)

Onward, dear reader! Let us dive into this tag, and learn some things about my characters!

The Questions:

1.) Most Likely to Be a Poet

Mr. Cobbs. He is a quiet sort who couldn't be happier to sit down with a large volume of Longfellow, Keets, or Browning. If he had the time, there is no doubt he would write some verse of his own.

2.) Most Likely to Dance in the Rain

Bridget, most definitely. She dearly loves the rain, and doesn't hesitate to dance in it no matter the season. With the abundant rains on the Emerald Island she calls home, she has learned to not begrudge the rains. She loves dancing as a general rule, so never lets rain stop her when the urge to break out in a Scottish Jig comes on.

3.) Most Likely to Look Good in a Kilt

Colm, without a doubt. He is an Irishman through and through, and when the occasion calls for it he doesn't shy away from donning a traditional kilt.

4.) Most Likely to Get Punched in the Face

Rory O'Conner. And if you do punch him, beware; for he can and will hit back. Roy isn't one you want to cross. With a constant scowl on his face, it's likely you're going to avoid getting on his bad side anyway. But that in and of itself is hard. If he doesn't like you, (and believe me, he needs no reason to dislike someone.) you'll know it. I can count on one hand the people Rory O'Conner truly likes. If he likes you, you should either be extremely grateful, or terrified. You can choose.

5.) Most Likely to Drop Everything and Become a Sheep Herder

Colm again to take the prize for this one, as this is literally what he did. When his father became unable to work, Colm was forced to leave his over-too-soon childhood to become a sheep herder at the O'Conner Farm, to provide for his family.

6.) Most Likely to Be Found in the Library

It was tough deciding which of the folks from this list I would choose, but the decision fell upon young Willoughby Spalding. When he isn't busily working on the police force, or spending time with his family, he would probably be found at the small town library, busily going through archived newspapers, and articles on missing persons cases. His goal is to solve as many cases as he can; reuniting lost families.

This one gets a double answer, as I don't want Ivy to feel left out! Ivy Rochester loves reading. And you can find her at her local library quite often. She may be reading something by Dickens or Shakepeare, perusing a how-to-book on designing, studying a biographical book on some historical figure she admires, or perhaps flipping through a Dictionary to study up on some words she can use to stump her big brother in a sophisticated-word-battle-off...(Long story, that.)

7.) Most Likely to Sleep Through an Earthquake

His friends would all agree; Joshua Peterson could sleep through almost anything. It takes all they can do to wake him up in the morning. Once a large tree fell just outside his bedroom window. It shook the house so hard, it caused some plaster to crumble from the ceiling, but he remained blissfully unaware. Only when he was literally dragged out of bed did he awaken and find out what had happened.

8.) Most Likely to Steal Food from Other Peoples’ Plates

Aaron Rochester. Ivy would quickly point an accusing finger at her twin. Especially when eating at a Fast Food joint, Aaron without fail steals French Fries from both his older brother, and his sister. They always catch him, as stealth isn't his strong suit. But he always at least attempts to sneak an extra fry out of their baskets.

9.) Most Likely to Cheat on a Test

She would never admit it, naturally, but I'm afraid that Amy Hyde would peek over her neighbor's shoulder to see the answer for a tough Math question, but only when all other attempts to figure it out herself, fail. "Desperate times call for desperate measures." She would quip.

10.) Most Likely to Say “Oops” After Setting Something on Fire

Far from being a sarcastic "opps", Elizabeth Archer would gasp in alarm and stare in horror before whispering "opps!" when she accidentally sets a tablecloth ablaze from clumsily tipping a candlestick.

11.) Most Likely to Open an Orphanage

Having a heart for the lost and lonely, Bridget MacDonald would jump at the chance to open up an Orphanage.

12.) Most Likely to Run off with the Circus

Sometimes bored with the hum-drum, monotonous daily life, Hugh McTavish would doubtless dash off to join the circus, if the opportunity arose. But it wouldn't be long before he had a change of heart and returned home, like the prodigal he is inclined to be.

13.) Most Likely to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse

Well now, since these are fictional characters, fictional occurrences are never out of the question, so I believe that the most likely to survive such a circumstance would be Captain Windsor. With his sharp wit and skills acquired from his time in war, he would rise to the occasion and defeat the evil, rising from the ashes; victorious.

14.) Most Likely to Fake Their Own Death

As he actually did this, Taivert Merel is the candidate for this one. He not only faked his death, he returned to society with a changed name, and nobody knows his true identity. Not yet, that is.

15.) Most Likely to Die and Haunt Their Friends

Just for kicks, Joshua Peterson would happily come back to haunt his friends if he ever died. And by haunt, I mean pull pranks. An eternity of joke-playing would be his life...death...??...goal.

"Didn't I just close that window? Weird. It's open again. I must be losing my mind..."

"Stop tapping my shoulder!"
"I never touched you."
"I must have fleas or something..."

Re-Tagging:

Well! I've done my research...and it seems all the lovely folks I would have tagged seem to have been tagged already...
If I have erroneously missed you, and you have not yet been tagged, please, consider yourself tagged! If you do the post, link it in a comment! I'd love to read what your characters would do in such situations. :)

I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

And now I must bid you adieu, as work beckons, and I mustn't ignore it any longer.

Which of the answers did you like best?
Judging by these questions, which character do you like best?

Thanks for reading,
